lyrics

If you listen to the only piece of advice you ever get
Then it would seem like your chances of failure might yield regret
And all I know is I was told to choose
And make sure I choose right
All I know if doesn't feel like a choice
When I write

Describing monotony to express my disbelief
When its likeness to Monopoly starts matching up piece to piece
But this modern game has TV screens that go from space to space
To retail stores and big Wall Street
They update each exchange
And then I realize that these structured lies
That I have kept so close
Are suddenly and still slowly just tools promoting molds
To stick humans in, get humans out who all support the cause
I forgot to brush my hair, but not my teeth
I need these jaws
To gnash, thrash, and maybe gash the monotonous moldy beast
As ancients said, who cares they're dead,
Practice patience, love, and keep
The ancient commonsense of things
Intact with more than tape and strings

And we go on and on and on
Singing na na-na na-na
And we go on and on and on
Singing na na-na na-na

It always seems like a great escape
Back to mountain men in caves
Could be the only way this established earth will ever really be saved
Every time you break your back from all the cracks in this concrete
Gives you one more source for the false hope of permanency
Which constantly invades your brain with how neat it could be
To replace these three distractions
With the three classes you have each week

So avoid the cracks, ride your bike, remember what you mean
By all your songs, your rights and wrongs, the rhymes that drive the beats
Oh, the rhymes that drive the beats go ...

On and on and on
Singing na na-na na-na
We go on and on and on
Singing na na-na na-na

Oh, on and on and on
We go on and on and on
Singin na na-na na-na
Singin na na-na na-na

We go on and on and on
Singin na na-na- na-na
We go on and on
Singin na na-na na-na

If you listen to the only piece of advice you ever get
Then it would seem like your chances of failure might yield regret
All I know is I was told to choose
And choose right
All I know is that it doesn't feel like a choice
When I write.
